Jackbilt Industries Inc. is the pioneer in the local manufacture of load bearing modular concrete blocks. Established in 1948 using Besser Vibrapac Block Machines from USA, the company’s first major project was the construction of the facilities in Clark Air Base in Pampanga, many of which still stand up to today. The company also figured prominently in the Philippines’ reconstruction projects after the Second World War and has remained as the market leader in load bearing concrete hollow blocks. In 1967, Jackbilt introduced T-joist in the country, using German technology and machineries. The pre-stressed concrete T-beams did away with wooden forms and support commonly used in conventional slabs systems thereby reducing cost and shortening construction time. It has become the preferred material of many housing developers in the country up to today. In 2012, the company built a precast pre-stressed floor slab manufacturing plant intended for the commercial building market. The Ribbed Slab and Hollow Core Slab plant is yet another first in the Philippines, with equipment and technology supplied by Elematic of Finland. Jackbilt has a combined daily capacity of 50,000 concrete masonry units, 3,500 lineal meters of T-Joists and 500 square meters of Ribbed Slabs & Hollow Core Slabs. All of the company’s raw materials and production processes adhere to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standards and all its products comply with American Concrete Institute (ACI) and National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) Standards. The company operates and maintains a quality control and testing laboratory equipped with the latest testing equipment not found in commercial testing centers in the country.
